Hiking on the 1st day of fall...

Today is the 1st day of fall... my very, very, very favorite time of year!  The weather is perfect right now and this morning Brian, my brother & I decided to go hiking for a few hours at Mammoth Cave National Park ... Blake and Dylan stayed home and Kaylin was at work.

Kaylins 18th Birthday...

Our daughter Kaylin turned 18 on Saturday (15th) we celebrated at home with family.  Some of the family couldnt make it, which was sad but what can ya do...... so we enjoyed the loved ones that made it down.  My Momma, My Sister, her honey & kids.  They all stayed the night with us, so we had a b-day slumber party too, it was really nice & so much fun.

Cow Pattie Cookies... aka No Bake.

 Ok so They're just no bake cookies, but the name sounds cooler, found this recipe in the Kentucky Living magazine








Cow Pattie Recipe...

2 c. sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 c evaporated milk
1/2 c. peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
2 T. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups oatmeal , uncooked (I used old fashioned)

Mix sugar, milk & butter in saucepan, bring to boil, boil for 1 min. Remove from heat stir in peanut butter & vanilla. Stir in cocoa & oatmeal. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.

*Leave out cocoa for just peanut butter cow patties... taste like fudge to us
